This all time classic apple was discovered in Australia in 1868 by Maria Ann (Granny) Smith - its fluro green skin and pale green flesh are instantly recognisable.

Tasting notes
The Granny Smith has a structured palate, with clean green notes of jasmine and spring bulbs. It's  interesting juxtaposition of sweet and sour brings a flavour complexity not often seen. Brilliantly juicy, this balances the drying acidity that makes Granny Smith such a renowned cooking apple.
